The fund was established by family and friends in honor of the late Victor Bañuelos, a lifelong champion of education and the opportunities it brings. Victor passed away from Covid-19 in January of 2021, a day in the middle of the pandemic when over 4,000 Americans succumbed to the illness in a single day . This memorial fund was created with the hope of yielding some long term good from what was truly a dark time in this country and across the world.

The Victor Bañuelos Memorial Fund supports the educational pursuits of students from the Rio Grande Valley.
